non stop from JFK - Bombay

Delta started a non-stop service from JFK to Bombay on Nov 1st 2006. its about 15 hours flight and the plane is Boeing 772LR. Each seat has PTV that shows hindi and english movies, hindi music and much more.

What do you folks think? Would you take this flight.

My opinion,
I would take this flight. Atleast it assures me that once I am airborne, I will reach bombay for sure and wont have to worry about layovers and plane change etc.

Lets hear whay u all have to say

continental has had JFK - Delhi non-stop for years now... desi ppl cant/wont pay for it :)

it is surprising that delta didnt do Boston - Bombay instead... i thought Boston was their hub, considering they spent like 25+ million getting the new Terminal A @ Logan.

Continental started the nonstop flight earlier this year.

Also Bostonis not a hub for Delta. And they probably wont get enough traffic from Boston to fill the flights everyday.

Direct flight to India...yes I would take it. Especially if each seat had PTV. I guess it probably costs more to fly this way, but I could really do without the 35 hr travel time we had last time.

I just checked the fairs on delta's website and it comes out to be avout $1200 including all taxes and fees. That's not bad at all.

Delta hubs in Atlanta, and Dayton, OH. Boston is not a hub for Delta. I came from India by the Delta direct flight, and i'm terrified of flying, but it was a good experience. Flight's comfortable, you can walk around, in fact they ask people to do that in flight. Good food, mostly breads and fruits and juices, which is good for all kinds of people. Air fare is alright, a little towards the higher end, but excellent service.
